2.1:  Write brief narratives (e.g., fictional, autobiographical) describing an experience.

2.2:  Write brief informational descriptions of a person, place, or thing.

 

ELD Standards                             Grade 1 - Beginning Level

WRITING: Applications

 

(2.1) Write a few words or phrases about an event or character from a story.

(2.2) Copy words posted and commonly used in the classrooms.

Write a phrase or simple sentence about an experience generated from a group story.

Grade 1 Ð Early Intermediate Level

 

WRITING: Applications

 

(2.1) Write simple sentences about events or characters from familiar stories read by the teacher.

(2.2) Write simple sentence using key words posted and commonly used in the classrooms (e.g., labels, numbers, names days of the week, and months:  ÒToday is Tuesday.Ó).
